Finally an A340 suitable for ai, but i found that it eats frames. I did a little test at Barcelona:

3-8 fps -- A340-600 Iberia
10-20 fps -- A330-300 Korean (POSKY)
12-20 fps -- B767-300 Brittania (POSKY)
So I'm a bit cautious about loading up my ai with a340s as it might grind the game to a halt.

They were supposed to release 4 planes this week-end, so we might see the A340-500 as well.

The plane really eats the frames!

I have to put on lots of fog to get flyable frame rates! But those cabin views truly look spectacular.

Cheers,

Justin

Yup, a real frame hog. It's a shame too, the model is fantastic. I loaded up Thule AB with no traffic for miles... and i still only got 8fpm max. It's barely flyable so I'm deleting it... damn.

Sad to say but I too had to delete it, I was getting 3-4 FPS in spot plane view.  Crying

Does anyone else find that you have to put in a huge amount of aileron trim to make the aircraft flyable?

Cheers,

Justin

I had the exact same problem Crank. Totally unflyable FPS. The only way I can fly it is to use one with no textures.

The A346 is fantastic just parked up from my flight to Santiago,Chile from Madrid,Spain superb flight, using the Iberia A346.
HOWEVER I've got a 750MHz Athlon and lets just say there is a noticeable FPS drop but its still USABLE!-so don't panic!
The animation is AMAZING, but the flying characteristics need a bit of getting used to and the fuel consumption isn't to accurate BUT its still worth the download.

The aileron - trim issue as it has been mentioned above gives the a/c a kinky look  Big grin Big grin

Wouldn't be very surpising if we saw Virgin 's first A346 christened "Prince Charles" .
