Today I filed a IFR flight plan to fly from Manchester, England-Funchal/Madeira, Portugal so I looked for the 3 letter airport code LPFU (according to airliners.net Funchal/Madeira is LPFU) But instead of LPFU I found Funchal/Madeira under the 3 letter code of LPMA.

Are there any other airports in FS2002 that have the wrong airport code?

On a side note I flew the new gmax 757 there (TUI Britannia) and it is a good plane to fly, made a real smooth landing too  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Well, FS2002 uses 4 letter ICAO codes and not 3 letter IATA codes  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
And I'm pretty sure that both LPFA and LPMA have 4 letters each so neither is an incorrect 3 letter code  Innocent

I believe the code for the airport was changed recently. It could thus well be that you're seeing the situation as it was BEFORE the codechange.
Something similar can be found in Athens,Greece. FS2002 does not know the new airport, as it was not open when the scenery was finalised.

I think that there are probably more situations like this where changes in the real world since about mid/late 2000 are not reflected because development of the scenery had been finalised by then (at some point in development you have to quit adding things and only correct things that are not according to your design documents).

I wish I were flying
