I have a very nice 1/200 plastic MYT DC10 model. I was interested to find that it was in the 'hybrid' livery of basic Airtours colours, with MYT stickers. Does this mean that, the 'REAL' DC10's, due to their age, wont be painted in full MYT colours?? Your thought please..........
ps I have a A330 model too in full MYT colours, I have also seen the 767-300, A320, A321 and B757 - all VERY nice!!

Simon i thought the same too ? Except i work for MyTravel and we were told that all a/c were going to be painted up in the full livery ? U say u have the A330-200 model and so do i but have a close look at it.It may just be me being silly but i think the model looks like a 300 not a 200 ? Tell me what u think ?

I was thinkin the same thing about my MYT A330, when i bought it I was trying to work out whether it was a -300 or a -200. I think its a -200, although its still very big! I bought mine from the shop at Manchester airport. Btw, had a look through the MyTravel inflight magazine the other day and on their fleet info page all the aircraft drawings next to the specifications had aircraft painted in full MyTravel livery, except the DC-10-10 and DC-10-30 which instead showed the interim livery but with the "My" from the MyTravel logo also painted onto the tail. Maybe this is the livery that the DC-10's will be painted in until they are replaced.

I am sure I read somewhere that there were no plans in the next 5 years to replace the DC-10's , so surely within that time they would be due for a respray into My Travel full colours.

Right, the MYT models should be onsale in aviation shops i n the UK now, or if not very soon as that was where i got mine from.
By738, if you are desperate for one get down to the aviation shop at MAN cos they had loads of MYT A330's in the other week.
Also, at the rate that MyTravel are repainting their fleet it wouldn't surprise me if the interim livery is around for the next 5 years on all their fleet let alone the DC-10's!

The full range of MyTravel model aircraft can also be purchased mail order from MyTravel Airways in the UK - I think the number to call is +44 161 232 6630. The models are priced at about £7.00; unfortunately the A320/321/330/B757 & B767 models are all 1:200 scale but the DC10 is 1:250 so it looks about the same size as the 757!
