ATC On Flight Sim 2002 - 'BOEING'

Does anyone elses ATC on Flight Sim 2002 call McDonnell Douglas MD80 a Boeing MD80? If so, why?

Simply because Boeing bought MD, so therefore in a number of cases MD aircraft are now called Boeing. I flew on a DL MD-11 this year and they called it a Boeing MD-11.

Actually, you can have it say McDonnel douglas if you preffer

open the MD-80 aircraft cfg file...

replace this line:
atc_type=BOEING
with this one:
atc_type=MCDONNELDOUGLAS

If you want it to JUST say MD-80 (like in real life) your atc_type line should look like:

atc_type=none
atc_model=md80
