I have noticed that the 330 aircraft of Aer Lingus that i have donwloaded doesn't take off when you use it in the AI traffic. Tryed that in the Dublin Airport, and the planes taxi just fine to the runway, but when it gets to taking off, they just won't. Get stuck there. I was wondering if maybe some one knows what is the problem..!! I would really appreciate some help..

Thanks

Neo

Are you using flaps for takeoff? Are trimming your t/o? That helps on most a/c, especially if you're taking off with full fuel...

Jcxp15 is right.
Also, try this:

Go to Aircraft on the menu at the top of the screen, then click fuel.
Put the Left to about 80, the centre to about 75 and the right to 80.
This should reduce weight and make an easier take off.

Not to sound like a crab, but re-read his post. He's not talking about flying the plane HIMSELF, but to use it as AI traffic.

AFAIK, try to find some other A330 flight dynamics and put them to your A330.

I saw replacement flight dynamics on AVSIM yesterday. I have not used them, but they are specifically for use on AI aircraft.

Search for aifdoc10.zip.

Craig.

Yea, I just re-read it, and saw that he said AI.. oh well.. as far as that goes, I dunno what the solution is for the AI a/c...

I have had this problem with the Posky A330 as AI. What I found was that it only happened at runways where the start point of the runway was behind the entering taxiway. You can find this out using AFCAD.

I had a look at Dublin airport in AFCAD, and see that if the traffic taxi on to runway 28 from the angled taxiway, the start point will be behind them on the runway. You need to move this forward of the entering taxiway and it should work.

I also found with the Posky A330's that I had to play around with the aircraft.cfg file to get the aircraft to climb when used as AI aircraft. This came from many trips to HKG, where once I got the aircraft to actually start the takeoff roll, they would nearly all ditch in the sea at the end of the runway or once they started their turn to heading.

POSKY planes as AI? Are you serious? While POSKY makes one of the best planes out there it definately isn't practical to use them as AI traffic? Don't they kill your frames? Try aircraft specially made for to be AI.

Mr.BA,

If you can provide a sauce of purpose-built AI aircraft that is as comprehensive as the Posky list, I would love it  Smile

B727-200:

Thanks for you help, i think that could be the problem.. sounds very logical.... However i've never experienced problems likek you did in HKG. I downloaded the A330 with paint of Aer Lingus(aerla330.zip) by Jesse Kovacks. I herd also that the POSKY aircraft may not land when used as AI. Well i'll try that and see what happens.

Thanks for all replies.....

(Mr. Ba: Can you tell me where to find those aircrafts specially made for AI?)

I highly recommend Projectai. If not you can try to download planes from Avsim that are made specifically for AI. If not, your frames will really drop.

Cheers!

Mr. BA and Boeing Boy:

I visit Projectai website, and i really liked it. I didn't know they had special aircrafts for AI. The only thing is i have downloaded the A320 and the 340, but some textures, like AF320, don't work, the aircraft appears in black. Has anyone downloaded any texture with this kind of failure?

the textures are not very detailed, but it is because of the frame rates.

What were the changes you made in aircraf.cfg to improve the performance of your A330 from POSKY??? My one also nearly dives into the water before taking off. Is there a reason for them taking so much time to take off????

Thanks for your help.

Does anyone knows why many of the repaints in www.projectai.com don't work. Some textures just cause a black effect. The aircraft simply gets all black. Try the A320 Airfrance repaint, or the 757-200 Iberia one. These were two of the ones that didn't work.

Thanks
