Hello,
Im looking for a good aviation model shop in the South Florida area, the closer to FLL, the better...one with a vast and expansive selection of all types of models (not the glue togethers, but like Herpas and Woosters etc.)...can anyone offer some suggestions?
Thanks,
Greg

There are two that I can think of.
"Warwick Hobby" is in the Plaza on the SW corner of Peters Rd and University Blvd. The have RC, Snap, Glue, And some 1:400 and 1:500. There prices are outrages, The cheapest 1:400 is a AirBerlin 737 for 19.95 and somewhere around 32.00 for a 747/777. It seems like they don't know how to price them because I have gotten some VERY rare Dragon Wings and Herpas for there standard prices. (Some nice BA Tails)
The place I shop the most is "R.C. Hobby" it is at the SE corner of McNab Rd and University Blvd. There prices are great! There so good I sometimes can buy 2 planes with the money I put aside. (1:400) There Plastic model (glue)selection is very large. You can find anything from 1:300 KLM 747-200 to a 1:144 B-52G. They also have a lot of the new 1:200 Herpas and 1:75 Dragon Wing "Fighters"
The bad thing is it's not to close to FLL, it's closer to FXE.

Theres a Cheesecake Factory in Sawgrass Mills, which is in Sunrise out near the Everglades, its been around for a few years though...
Sinlock, I do remember going to RC Hobby the last time I was down there and found it to be a bit of a disappointment in terms of selection...how does Warwick Hobby compare to them?

I don't know what your looking for so.....
Models
Warwick is about even in numbers of models (Glue) with R.C. But I find that R.C. carrys the better brands. Warwick has mostly Revel and other Mid-quality stuff.
Die Cast
R.C. Hobby beats Warwick hands down. Warwick only has about 50 Diecast and most are 1:500 and alot are doubles even triples. R.C. has a much larger selection of 1:400, 1:500, 1:200, and 1:75 (Fighters)
On a whole, Both shops are pretty even for the most part. R.C. just seems better for Aviation stuff. Not counting R.C. Aircraft

Sinlock,
Im not looking for glue models...also, since your prof says both FLL and MIA...anything down in Miami that is good that you know of, or up north in the PBI area even I suppose?

There's an AirplaneShop down near MIA, and another fine model aircraft store by the name of ADAMJets, although that one might be a bit too far (40+ miles from FLL).
