Why No Helo AI In FS2002?

I was just wondering why there is no helicopter AI traffic? I think t would be cool to see a Jet Ranger flying around a city on approach. Any way to add this?

From what can be found on the net, It seems that MS just ran out of time to finish the Helo AI. Same thing with ATC AI, if you look at some of the files in 2002 you can there was work done for things like altitude changes and what not.

There have been some people who have tried to make Helo AI and Autopilots, but most have not worked 100% or have been so hard to use that they done become popular.
You can make a "Poor Mans" Helo AI, But it involves a lot of file hacking and then it's pretty much just a Helo that fly's like a Ultralight.

AI traffic do indeed turn. I was cruising at FL330 over South Dakota, and a 747 was instructed to turn right, and sure enough, it started to turn, and you could see the curved contrail!

The reason you don't see too many turns is because all AI can only fly Direct, so the only they turn is when ATC tells them too. That happens after takeoff to get them on route and to get them lined up for Final.
