Any body have any idea if MS will release FS2004 on XBOX ? I don't see why they shouldn't, I can imagine that it would look pretty good on a XBOX, should be nice if they also released FS2002 on XBOX, that what's keeping me from get rid of my PC as a play-machine and go all XBOX... Getting tired of all money spent on new graphic cards, memory etc.

I personally don't think they will as for Flightsim there are too many controls...space etc...i can vaguley remember reading that it would be difficult on xbox as it takes a 3d world and changes into the 2d image on your computer screen...or something like that...i mean you can probably tell by now I don't really know...maybe someone can expand...?

JSC, ANY computer at this moment will have to turn a 3D world into a 2D image to display it.
Until we get holographic displays or some other means of true 3 dimensional display technology there is no other way.

The number of controls needed might be an issue, but simplification can do that quite nicely.
Just turn FS into another shoot 'm up but without guns and you're done.

Personally I don't think there will be an X-box version now, and this may well be the last ever given (MS is currently the only company working on civillian flightsims, all the others having thrown in the towel because the profit margins are so much lower than for first person shooters and adventure games).

Sorry what i meant was that having to change it from 3d into 2d takes alot of computer power...anyway as i have mentioned above I don't really have to much knowledge in this area....
It would be great though to have a flightsim on a games console....

Still it would be cool just to have a simplified version on XBOX....like just a landing simulator such as landing at various airports which go up in level of hardness etc...

The XBOX easily has enough power to run flight simulator. Would be neat if they did sell some sort of yoke/stick, trottle, panel, and rudder attachments. In reality though, FS will probably stay on the PC.

As I recall MS already sell some sort of joystick for some other games on XBOX (maybe Steel Batallion as Boeing 747-311 mentioned). Another benefit of having FS2004 on XBOX is that it will be affordable to have multiple screens while playing ( i.e. you don't need to have five 2500 U$ computers, instead five 200 U$ XBOXs) , since XBOX are already have a built in NIC (Network Interface Card) with RJ45 connector and TCP/IP interface for networking, AND there already are some LINUX program that turn your XBOX in to a computer (I can post the link to that website if anyone interested). UNLEASH THE POWER OF YOUR XBOX!

The steel batallion controller was something like $100 and not even available in the US from what I can recall. I strongly doubt we'll ever see FS on the XBOX.

Buy Halo 2 for the XBOX, FS2004 for the PC and your life will be complete and happy.

>>> AC320,

I left my kick-a** computer back in Sweden, I don't want to buy one down here (Australia), the company I work for only gave me a laptop and my friends starts to getting tired of me coming over and play FS2002 all the time *lol*. The only reason why I bought my XBOX was to able to play Madden 2003 (can't live without it), but when I started to think about it, FS on XBOX is not an bad idea!

All they would really need to do would be to have a keyboard peripheral and a joystick with a thrust lever. IMHO, Combat Flight Simulator 3 would be the better game to port onto XBOX, it would be a great game to have as part of the XBOX live network.
