Just wanted to know how much the FS98 installation takes up (full installation) on your hard drive. I'm thinking about going back to fs98 because my hard-drive is getting full and I found out that half of the space usage within my program files is from fs2002 (I've got a 10MB hard-drive). I think I just may install fs2002 when I get a new computer.

Regards

Do you mean 10 GB???

Hard to tell exactly, but my FS98 only takes up about 290 MB. I have a few addons installed, but not too many. My computer is, seriously, about 6 years old now so it can barely even run FS98.

Believe me, I blew all my money when I got this computer. It was top of the line when I got it, and it is saying something that I have never had to take it into a shop! Still runnin' smooth, but I am going to need more than 4GB pretty darn soon!

My advice would be to buy a bigger hard drive (20 to 40Gb)and re-install FS2002 on there. The difference in quality between FS98 and FS2002 (In flying and scenery terms) is too big for me.

Don't forget the new hard drive isn't a wasted investment... It can be transferred into the new computer as and when you get it.

Cheers!

Yeah, you can buy hard drives, and they're pretty cheap!

I have a 40Gb hard drive and have 32.2Gb free, most of that is for FS2002  Smile/happy/getting dizzy.

So, just buy a new hard drive, it's cheaper than buying a whole new computer.

How fast is your processor? If it is slow, then you may want to consider upgrading to a completely new computer.

I've got a 100gb, with about 35gb free.

Uninstalled FS98 a long time ago.

It's a first generation Pentium, but I don't know exactly how fast it is. Can't be much, and it had A LOT of trouble with FS2K, so I just skipped FS2002. I doubt my processor could run FS2002, so I may need to just buy a new computer  Smile .
