Hi,
I was wondering how you go about painting and joining the wings and fuselage. Here is my problem - if I paint them separately before joining them, it looks real nice before the joinder but as soon as I glue the wings on it is very ugly with paint-smears and a big gap at the joining points. If I try to fill these, it basically undoes everything I have already painted because of the white putty. If I paint it after joining, it is extremely hard to mask it off properly. Any suggestions?

I always join my wings before any painting. I fill gaps with putty and sand until smooth. (this includes engines and pylons, if applicable!) I start with overall colour of wings, then inspars if any, followed by leading edge. Never too difficult!! I mask this off when I paint the fuselage.
