Hi everyone!

I have been visiting www.fs2002.com recently and have tried to download some of the different types of airplane. However, when they are downloaded into my computer, I sinmply have no idea how to actually get them to appear on FS2002! Know what i mean?

Anyway.....so on what internet sites can i actually purchase these types of add-ons?? I dont wanna download them, but want to buy them. I remember looking at one in my local Computer shop a while ago....i think it was called "classic aircraft" or something, and it had Bac1-11's, VC-10's and all sorts, as well as another that had all the airbus planes and comcorde. But I cant find any sites online where i can buy these...... this is where i need your help!

Can anyone help me? tell me where i can find these to buy online? Or alternatively, explian in VERY simple terms how to effectively use the downloads from www.fs2002.com?? (i am a bit of a computer novice!)  Smile

thanks for your help in advance!!!

A good place to look would be http://www.flight1.com and http://www.justflight.com - both have a large stock of add-ons.

Also good is http://www.simmarket.com.
http://www.lhshop.nl and http://www.pilotshop.nl in the Netherlands, http://www.aerosoft.de in Germany, http://www.simw.com in Belgium (though Simw is quite expensive).

fs2002.com isn't very well regarded I'm afraid. http://www.simflight.com and http://www.avsim.com are far better sites.

Keeping with the adage about teaching a man to fish rather than giving him one, can someone help our friend 2000first by posting detailed instructions on how to add downloaded aircraft and scenery into FS2K2? I think that's what he's in need of more than anything else.

This way he can buy the software he wants, but also make use of the awesome freeware that's out there.

If he can read he can know that easily as any addon worth the bytes comes with instructions and most better FS sites have such as well...
Anyway he did ask specifically for commercial addons, so who are you to tell him to use freeware instead?

As you live in the UK, http://www.justflight.com is your best bet.

Jwenting-

Don't be a jerk. If you'll re-read his post, you'll see that he's having PROBLEMS GETTING DOWNLOADED FREEWARE TO WORK, and consequently he's asking about commercially produced software because he doesn't know how to make the downloaded stuff work.

So, I thought asking the experts here to post a detailed guide on installing downloaded freeware might be of help to him.

You'll also notice that I wrote that this would enable him to use freeware as well as buying the software he wants.

No need to get uppity with your "who are you to tell him" garbage. I'm just trying to help someone out.

1. Download and install a zip file expander. I use Alladin's Stuffit expander which is free.

2. Download your aircraft of choice into a file you create. I named my file "FS Addons". After the download finishes use the expander program to unzip the file. I usually unzip to the "FS Addons", then copy and paste the aircraft folder to C (hard drive):Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS 2002/Aircraft. The gauges need to be copy and pasted to Program Files?Microsoft Games/FS 2002/gauges.

Have fun!
