Opinions, please, on the best place for a British based customer (ie, me) to purchase die-cast model airliners. It seems to me that with the pound buying a lot of dollars at the moment, getting them from America works out cheaper. For example, a British Midland DC-9 in the Aero Classics range costs £29-95 from a British retailer and $29-95 from an American one. The latter is substantially cheaper but some shops, such as Adam Jets of Florida, add on hugh shipping costs which more than make up for the saving.

http://www.airplaneshop.com is a good site too....A.net was even "partnered" with them for a while. That's where I get pretty much all of my models.

You can find a lot of good one's on EBay fairly cheap too. I've never had any bad luck with any of them, and have bought about 50 so far, just got 5 more the other day

I know about ebay having bought a Gemini Jets BOAC B741 off it. However, as someone who is relatively new to this game I wondered if any retailers come up with some good deals.
Having looked further, Jetway Models of (I think) Seattle seem to be very good value though their range is not quite as extensive as some of the others. Just ordered a couple of Aero Classics from them.

http://www.eztoyz.com/ is where I get mine. Great site! A helpful hint, if you try searching on this site, only type in the first part of thje airline, ex. dont type Delta Air Lines, or United Air Lines, just type in Delta or united.

I have used a company called Toymax based in Hong Kong, very good website and quick and safe delivery. Their price for a Gemini Jets Braniff 747-200 Big Orange is £13-40 plus P&P, a very good price.
