Might make an interesting diorama...think of all the cool (pun intended) de-icing ground equipment you could scratchbuild! I might suggest you purchase an issue of a model railroading magazine that has a feature on snowscapes. When cruising through the bookstores I've noticed issues that have articles on creating this effect, and I'm entirely sure that a visit to a hobby shop specializing in model RR accessories could offer good advice on materials and methods. Regards..Jack

What about going to one of those stores that sells all the little light-up Christmas houses? You can buy fake snow of all kinds and sizes (coarse to fine) in little baggies.
Its the perfect time of year for it!

I've never put down any "snow" on my airport....never thought to. For a while, I did have a de-icing pad....It later became my 3rd runway.

If you use a powder or flakes, it may be tough to clean up

Talc will stick to your planes.
