The Main Differences Between FS2K4 And FS2K2?

...I'm thinking of asking FS2K4 to Santa for Christmas, but is it really worth the upgrade ?!? what are you paying the extra €€€ for ?

The Air Traffic system of FS9 is much better than that of FS2002, but I'd say that the single most substantial improvement is the weather. The FS9 weather is so much better that there really is no comparison. You'll be amazed.

The weather/scenery is fantastic - almost too realistic, since (as in real life) you can't see the ground most of the time!

Same with the GPS (being able to see the terrain) and the Air Traffic Control.

My only grouse is that the actual aircraft don't seem to fly as well. Bring a 737 in on ILS, 'by the book', turn off the auto-pilot and auto-throttle at 1 mile and the nose goes way high, you have to wind on trim in a hurry. Even then, you have to land nose-high unless you use 40 degrees of flap - which is NOT right. That never happened with FS2002, smooth transition.

My other problem is that I love prop twins - but the Beechcraft Baron is a 'dog'. Needs full boost to do anything, climbs like an arthritic pensioner, you simply cannot trim it level on a landing approach, the nose keeps pitching up or down whatever speed you hold. And no better aeroplanes available to download yet - not from sites I trust, anyway.

On FS2K2, pushback is Shift+P. I know how to start the flight from the gate. Instead of selecting active runway under the airport location window, scroll down and it will show you some of the avaliable gate assignments. I still don't know how to be to start the engines because I don't know how to change the default, nor do I know how to shut them down.

Rb211, there was a file released on http://www.avsim.com that made each flight you created start with the engines shut down, and then you'd have to start them yourself.

Well, for me it's easy to answer!

FS2002 is running without problems on my computer while FS2004 is making lots of problems.

Seriously, one of my friends bought the FS2004 as well and in my opinion the weather and the ATC has improved a lot against the FS2002.

The Learjet 45 and the Mooney Bravo now have virtual cockpits! The ATC as mentioned is much better. Rb211 you can start the engines by pressing Shift+E
