Hello, this is my first post in this section. I wanted to know how you ATC in FS2002. Do you need to download something? Or you just tell people where to go. I have flown flights in FS2002 and the ATC (ground, departure, clearence, etc...) knew my every move, how fast i was going, my HDG,ALT,distance from DES EG:KJFK to EGCC to EGLL). If anyone knows please tell me

Ok do you want to be an ATC controller, well you cant if that is the question. But if you are just trying to communicate with the ATC just hit the corrosponding number on the top row of #'s on your keyboard for the response you want to give back.

Hope this will help!
Dan

PIA777, your best bet is to do a couple of the 'flying lessons' with Rod Machado. I think there is one specifically on ATC. You'll soon get the idea.

The basic principles are that if you fly VFR (Visual Flight Rules) all you need is clearance to take off and land. You can request 'Flight Following' from ATC if you like, but that is optional.

If you fly IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) you have to file a flightplan, and ATC then controls your height, course etc.

If you take off IFR and get tired of it, just don't respond to ATC - they'll drop you and tell you to fly VFR anyway!

Yes - from the opening screen, click on 'Learn to Fly' - then 'Private Pilot' - then 'Lesson 5: Air Traffic Control'. Takes you right through the process - NAV20.
