Hi everyone!

Do you have any 1/100th models? If so, what's your favourite? Do you have many? Where do you display them?

I have about 30 1/100th models from PacMin, Space Models, AMI Phelps and Graphideco. Mind you, I can't display them all at once due to the space so I have to keep some in boxes and rotate them...

I've been looking for a large scale model for ages, where do you get yours from? I can't seem to find any retailers in the UK.

Hi DC-10,

I have got them from many different places, direct from the airlines, on ebay, from the manufacturers of the models. I also pick them up at enthusiast events like the Luton, Gatwick or Heathrow shows...

In the UK there are a few good places. East Midlands Airport has a shop which sells mostly second hand models, www.aviationstore.co.uk has some though both of the above can be pricey! The other good place is http://aviationmodels-online.com/ I've got a few from here too!

Only problem is funds! It can be quite expensive. My favourite at the moment (this changes) is a 1/100th scale bmi A330 made by Space Models in London, but then thinking about it I also like my 1/72nd RJ100 in BA Union Flag colours - also space. Now, you've got me thinking...

Oh, yes, you can also check out:

http://www.aero-tek.com/

So, what are you interested in getting?

Cheers

Thanks a lot for your reply Airways45! I'm interested in a BA 747 but they are, as you said, very expensive!

I'm going to get one though, they are very nice!

For LOTS of travel agent models 1/72 - 1/16 check out this site:
http://aviationmodels-online.com/photo_gallery/cutaway/page1/page1.htm

There is a section of the site with models for sale.

As per this topic:

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/aviation_hobby/read.main/45778/

These are kinda cheap in comparison to some. I made a mistake and paid £245.00 for one of my models from "The Aviation Shop" at EMA  Sad Live and learn eh?!

I have three at the moment:

Airtours A330-200 by Space Models
British Airways B747-400 by Pacific Miniatures of CA
British Airways B737-300 Custom Made  Big grin

All 1:100 scale  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I wish I could get some more, but sometimes you look back and think "How much did I spend?!"  Wow! Not only that, its not like you can hang these types on your ceiling is it?! Big grin

Regards,

Justin  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Any company which makes custom made 1:100 poly-urethane models? I've bought wooden ones from the philippines, but would really like a custom poly-urethane one.

PacMin does sell to the public (if you have the money, they are happy to help you) however, you need to contact them with your requirements but be prepared since one-off models can be expensive...

I have six models 1:50 and another 6, 1:100

1:50 is as follows: 3 X DC10-30, 1 X B747-100, 1 X A300B4, 1 X B707-320 all from LH

1:100 is as follows: 1 X B747-400 / UA, 1 X B747-400 / CA, 1 X DC10-30 / SK (pre 1983 c/s), 2 X DC10-30 / LH (old c/s), 1 X F27 / IC. Besides these I have over 290 models ranging from 1:600 - 1:200.

Storage - is a good question. I have had to vacate the ground floor of my home of its tenants in order to fit in all my models. However the situation has since improved as I have now spread my model collection between three locations - CCU / DEL and my home village in coastal Kerala.

Anyone has an idea of where to find an EL AL model (wearing the OLD livery...)??

Thanks!

I bitterly miss the livery that should never have been changed (repetition...)

Todareisinger look at aviationmodels-online website or contact AMI models and have a 1/100 or 1/50 747 custom made for you.

PacMin is one of the best, but if you really want quality, look at Bader.
