FS2K4 Crashing

Anyone have any idea as to why sometimes in the middle of my flights the gane just completely shuts down? Ive had the same computer for a year and it just started happening...I actually cleaned out my computer and used the recovery discs...stil does it...i never had any problems until 2v weeks ago...any ideas???

Yes it's called Crash To Desktop - there is lots of information on the internet about this problem. Here's a good link:

I don't think there is a solution found that will work for everyone unfortunately. I used to get these but when I changed the season to summer instead of winter, they hardly ever happen.

I was having the same problem. I began to reboot the computer after surfing the net and right before using FS9. Also I stopped using updating weather and went back to static downloaded weather. I don't know which one worked but it stopped crashing...

Some people have it during the winter-spring transition.
They immediately claim that everyone has it and flame to death anyone who dares contradict them (I've had it happen to me...).

Instead of trying to find out what causes it to happen to them, they typically just complain and complain and scream for a patch (without taking the trouble to contact Microsoft and work with them to determine the cause which might actually help them, but then there'd be nothing to complain about thus taking away the real fun (which is complaining about Microsoft after all for them)) ...
