HI, I've been using FS2K for about 6 months and really enjoy it. I'd like to hear from other users about new and interesting airports to land at. I've pretty much checked out all the North American biggies and a few that I've always been curious about. The rest of the world I've only looked at the majors (London, Madrid, Paris, etc.) I know there's thousands so if you have any interesting one's you can pass along I'd appreciate it (i.e. runways that end on a cliff,... difficult short fields,..... surrounded by mountains/water)

For some reason I find Kefallinia in Greece very beautiful. Hot and high airfields are very interesting, too - they really take the best out of your aircraft since you have to run at high ground speeds very close to max gear limits . The Andes is a good test ground. Cuzco in Peru, near the legendary Inca city of Macchu Picchu, is a nice example. Kathmandu in Nepal has been described one of the most challenging approaches in the world but it doesn't seem very special in FS2000. Neither does Funchal, in Madeira (Portugal), but running the Rwy 06 approach to the marks takes practice. The final turn is at first very hard to judge correctly due to the lack of true peripheral vision with the sim. I don't recall whether I did this with FS2000 default or some FS98 third party scenery. As Edwin mentioned, Innsbruck is a real legend. The good old Kai Tak 13 is probably the most famous of them all and requires practice to be flown correctly.
FS2000 is ok. The default sceneries are quite satisfactory as such and give you a beautiful chance to do some "armchair travelling". The whole world is there for you - Greenland, New Zealand, the Florida Keys, the islands of Thailand and Malaysia, Rio de Janeiro, the Baleares... IMHO what great way to unwind!

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll try them. By the way..I only have FS2000 and Kai Tak is closed. You can fly by all the nice animated high rises and towards the checkerboard but the airfield and strip is just a gray blob with a yellow "X" on both ends. I still try to land on it anyway.

I think you should perhaps try landing at Marshall Islands Int'l. Airport can be accessed from under the Oceania menu type Marshall Islands and only one available.
Really interesting and I think it can even handle a 744 but haven't tried to land one yet.

I think you should perhaps try landing at Marshall Islands Int'l. Airport can be accessed from under the Oceania menu type Marshall Islands and only one available.
Really interesting and I think it can even handle a 744 but haven't tried to land one yet. Anyway please post your comments once you have tried to land at the airport.
