well, I have over 1000 Schabak 1/600 scale models and I'm still collecting them, but over the years, the quality has really gone down the tubes! I sarted to collect Gemini jets about a few years back and while they are much more expensive to by, the quality is absolutely amazing. Every model is simply a work of art and I already have over 200 of them. I also collect Herpa 1/500 and 1/400 scale models as well as Dragon Wings 1/400 models. But seriously, by far, Gemini jets have way better quality than Schabak. I just have way too many of them to stop collecting the 1/600 scale models and switch over completely to something else. One last thing, Schabak's customer service sucks!!

As for Shaback or Gemini. Since I really hate Shaback because the qualitiy sucks,( I only own the original 3 that I unfortuantely baught), I'd go with the gemini. Though I am a dedicated Herpa collector.

I've never seen a Shaback model so I can't really say. I would however say that Dragon Wings and Gemini Jets are the best in terms of quality and realism.

Yea, Gemini's quality is 100x better than Schabak. Just look at the price, an average Schabak plane costs $6, an average Gemini plan costs $20. Gemini is far more detailed and much better color quality on the model. I have about 85 Gemini Jets and Dragon wings planes myself

You can't compare Schabak to gemini, they're just completely different. While GEminis are made for collectors, Schabak ar for kids to play with (at least in my opinion). Herpa are a bit of both, but they are certainly more collectable since they changed to the new generation.
Nevertheless I still own around 400-500 Schabaks along with 600-700 Herpas and a couple of genminis, Dragon WIngs and others...
Are there any other noteworthy models?
I have one 'net-jets' (1/500) model, they are really well done, and of course Starjets (1/500). Tucano (in 1/400) is also very nice.
