This only works on JET AIRCRAFT, excluding the ERJ, CRJ, and similar RJ's and similar size aircraft. PLease know that results will vary from every aircraft. If your plane has a virtual cabin, it may not work. The values may be played around with, if you need help, please email me at coavalanche33@msn.com .

FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT: Make a copy of your origninal panel.cfg file!!!
Start out by opening up your panel.cfg by right clicking on it, selecting "open with ->" then "choose program" and finally, select wordpad from the list. You will first most likely see this:
//-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fixed Window01=Forward Right
Fixed Window02=Right
Fixed Window03=Rear Right
Fixed Window04=Rear
Fixed Window05=Rear Left
Fixed Window06=Forward Left
Fixed Window07=Left
After this, is where you need to start adding lines. After fixed window07, (I put 07 for the number since it varies by each panel, not all panels are alike), add the following in the next line:
Fixed WindowXX=Forward Left Up
Fixed WindowXX=Forward Right Up
Fixed WindowXX=Left Up
Fixed WindowXX=Right Up
Fixed WindowXX=Rear Left Up
Fixed WindowXX=Rear Right Up
Replace the XX's with consecutive numbers following the other one. Your panel.cfg should look something like this now except with the numbers according to your panel:
//-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fixed Window01=Forward Right
Fixed Window02=Right
Fixed Window03=Rear Right
Fixed Window04=Rear
Fixed Window05=Rear Left
Fixed Window06=Forward Left
Fixed Window07=Left
Fixed Window08=Forward Left Up
Fixed Window09=Forward Right Up
Fixed Window10=Left Up
Fixed Window11=Right Up
Fixed Window12=Rear Left Up
Fixed Window13=Rear Right Up
Now we have done that, we must make them work. You should next see something to this effect:
Note that I have bolded the numbers that correspond to MY (not yours) fixed views above.
Now, leave one line blank between the last line and the following, which you are about to add. Note that the bold XX's are where you need to put the consecutive numbers:
At this point, your panel is setup to see views like a passenger. To make it work, press the following:
4 and 5 on the num pad pressed together=left wing
5 and 6 on the num pad pressed together=right wing
5 and 7 on the num pad pressed together=left wing front
5 and 9 on the num pad pressed together=right wing front
1 and 5 on the num pad pressed together=left wing back
3 and 5 on the num pad pressed together=right wing back
If you are having trouble, have questions or comments, or would like me to set up your panel.cfg for you, send it to me at coavalanche33@msn.com

Oh man, that's confusing And I can't see all of the text - it goes off the side.
--------------------------
So if I send you an email with the panel attached, you will set it up for me?
Cheers

One of the main issues with setting passenger wing views is that the point of view still remains with the passenger when looking forward. I find that this distorts distance perception, especially when one comes in for landing. Is there a way to modify this cfg to somehow retain the cockpit point of view while retaining the passenger wing views?

Actually it doesn't have to.
The default POV will be wherever [views] is set to be in the aircraft.cfg file. when you set wing views in the panel.cfg, you displace them back in the cabin with a negative figure at the end of the "eye" line. When you hit a wing view on the keyboard, the POV will change and put you right over the wing, and when you release the key, you will be back at the front of the plane. basically, each individual view can be wherever you place it.

After finally achieving some free time, I tested this on the Project Opensky A330-300, and it works like a charm. Thanks for this great modification United4everDEN. I'll be trying it out on the other heavies such as the SGA AB3, AB6, D10, and the POSKY 742/743/744. I'll also test it out on MelJet's 777 (let's see if the virtual cabin conflicts w/ it) and the new Dreamwings ERJ-170 and see what the results are.
