I also have the Maycom AR-108 with a telescopic aerial. It's great for what I need it for. I mostly use it to listen to EMA approach and MAN terminal control.

Radio Shack Pro-51.
It's ancient but gets the job done. On a side note it was the last scanner made that picks up cellphone and cordless phone conversations. Makes the downtime interesting sometimes =)

I have a Tandy Netset Pro-44 (known in the US as Radio Shack Pro-44). Unfortuantely I dropped it and broke the display. I have been trying unsuccessfully to find a replacement part. I wrote to Radio Shack and was told that since it is not a US build they are unable to help. Does Tandy still exist in the UK? Their website directs me to amazon.co.uk. Now I am thinking of upgrading to the Yupiteru MVT-7100.

Can anyone tell me what kind of scanner can I pick up for around $200, I live about 18 miles North of PHL and I really want to hear all the way down there. My friend lives like 8 miles from the airport and all he can hear is the traffic not ATC, he says its the way their signals shoot out. Any help is appreciated.
