Has anyone had experience with the CH Product's Flight Sim Yoke PC? I have been looking for a good yoke for FS98 and have heard rave reviews of this model. If you have used it, please tell me how you like it... thanks!

I've used CH Product's Virtual Pilot Pro for about two years and have been very pleased. I think the one you're talking about is either a step up or a replacement for mine, so it should be a good peice. If you're going to fly piston aircraft, however, you may want to look at CH's Flight Sim Yoke USB that has throttle, prop, and mixture controls. I only have a throttle, so I have buttons programmed to vary the propellor blade angle and have to adjust the mixture with the mouse (a real pain, hence I hardly ever do it!). You can find it on CH's web site. In any case, I think it's better to buy a flight yoke that's designed for this sort of thing rather than a joystick, even one with force feedback. On a different note, Viewpoint Park's last day is Dec. 31. I hear rumors that new observation sites are being considered once the new runway is finished, but who knows when that will be!

Thanks for your input, but I finally broke down and ordered it Sunday and it got here on Tuesday. It is a lot better and realistic than a joystick!

As for the park, I am sad that it is closing. It was a perfect place to sit and watch. Hopefully a new site will be constructed soon and it won't be too far away from the runways and terminal. I might just have to send a few emails to the Port of Seattle to urge them to construct a new one. Only two months left...  . Thanks for the update though!

It runs between $80-100 (for the PC model) depending on who you order it from... I ordered it from Outpost.com- it was $99.95 with free overnight shipping via Airborne Express. The manufacturer's website is http://www.chproducts.com.

Mine broke. It can not be centered, or it is not stable. I bought CH Pedals and Flight Sim Yoke, and none of that works.

Now, I'm using USB based MS Sidewinder. I am not happy about it, but I don't have headches.

KUGN, I am starting to have the same experiences... I am thinking about returning it. It won't center or stay stable, as yours won't.

Well, due to its inability to further my flight sim experience, it is going back to outpost.com... I guess some products aren't as good as they are described to be. The model I received was cheaply made and returning it is probably the best option. Thank you, KUGN, for telling me of your experiences as my yoke was heading in that direction.

N766AS no problem, I hope your return goes well and you get your money back.

My other, but not major, objection for a long time were the clamps that attacch the flightsim yoke for the desk. They might hold for an hour or so, but on some tough landings, they'll loosen the grip and the whole thing will be slipping. No one ever wrote about it, but then the reviewers did not put 300hrs + of flying with this yoke.

It has better switches and knobs than SideWinder for sure; especially the one you can use for changing the point of view.

However, all of tha t fades if you can not have it centered or stabilized.

I wonder if someone could share their experiances with 'upper end' yokes, those metal ones they recently reviewed at FlightSim.com
