Having only just recently got into plane spotting / photography in a major way, is there a directory or similar of World Civil Aircraft Registrations? (I would imagine it would be as big as a phone book!) On line would be even better. If it comes in book form, where is it available - particularly in Australia where I am at the moment? And if on a website, any link would be appreciated. It would be great to photograph an aircraft and know its history.
(Sorry if this all sounds naive - like I said, I'm new to this! )
Thanks in advance,

You should have put it in Civil Av. you would have got more hits there. Anyway, i know a site for UK and Ireland registrations http://www.jethros.i12.com
Also on http://www.lhr-lgw.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk there is an option in the drop down bar that has aircraft registers linked to other sites, hwoever i've never been on them so i don't know how good they'll be.
