As i mentioned elsewhere on this forum, i have trouble landing on the runway. Usually i land to the left or right of the rwy. Why is this so?
What should the 'Course' setting be? I set it to the rwy alignment. Is this correct? How does this affect the Approach?
Also why does the aircraft make a sudden dive if the APPROACH hold is kept on? I usually disconnect it around 4 nm out. But if i dont, the acft makes a dive on the rwy! What am i doing wrong? Or is it a problem with FS98?

The course setting (OBS) will not affect the ILS, it will only affect VOR navigation. It does, though, help you "visualize" the instrument approach if you set the OBS to runway heading.
The Approach Hold function is not an autoland function. Therefore it will not flare over the threshold. You must disconnect it before the flare. It does not have a problem- it is doing exactly what you tell it to do, which is to follow the localizer and glideslope all of the way to the ground. Disconnect it before landing (at the middle marker is great) and flare about 50 feet AGL.

"Hover" your mouse over the end of the runway you need the heading for in FSNav. In the box that pops up will the be the heading to put into the OBS. Also, sometimes the APP function is not always perfect and will land you left or right of centerline.
