Hi folks,

Where do I find the 'aircraft.cfg' file? I have to copy and paste things into it.

Sorry, I wasn't at all clear in my opening thread. What I meant was this: I have downloaded WN textures by Jon M. and the 737NG kit by him. The 737NG package is in my aircraft file. Within it, are the 2 WN textures (his instructions were to extract or copy the files into the 737NG file). That seems OK. The problem is that he said copy and paste the following (see below) into the aircraft.cfg file. Where do I find this file? He also said: change the x's to the nearest available numbers. What does this mean?

Here's what I must copy and paste into the aircraft.cfg file:

[fltsim.35]
title=737W SOUTHWEST
sim=737NG
model=737W
panel=
sound=
texture=737_SOUTHWEST
checklists=
description=ARNZ AIS AIRCRAFT
ui_manufacturer=AIS
ui_type=737-700W
ui_variation=SOUTHWEST
atc_heavy=1
atc_id=737
atc_airline=SOUTHWEST
visual_damage=0
atc_id_color=000000ffff
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=SWA

[fltsim.34]

ui_manufacturer=AIS
ui_type=737-700
ui_variation=SOUTHWEST
atc_heavy=1
atc_id=737
atc_airline=SOUTHWEST
visual_damage=0
atc_id_color=000000ffff
atc_parking_types=GATE

visual_damage=0
atc_id_color=000000ffff
atc_parking_types=GATE

[fltsim.32]

ui_variation=SOUTHWEST BLUE
atc_heavy=1
atc_id=737
atc_airline=SOUTHWEST
visual_damage=0
atc_id_color=000000ffff
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=SWA
atc_flight_number=

I am very confused. PLEASE HELP!

You'll find the aircraft.cfg file in the aircraft folder. For example the default B737-400, open up the folder and you will see a file called "aircraft". That is the cfg file. Double click it and then open it with notepad. He also said: change the x's to the nearest available numbers. What does this mean? This means look at the previous entry in the aircraft.cfg. At the top you will see something that says "[fltsim.0]" or "[fltsim.1]" or "[fltsim.2]". Basically all you have to do is put the number next to the flightsim line making sure it is one more than the last entry. So if your last entry is "[fltsim.5326]" make your new entry "[fltsim.5327]".

Ahhh! Do I then simply copy and paste it into the 737NG package file? Will I just need to delete the current stuff (see below) and replace it with the new bits?

Will I just replace this (it's an example)?

[fltsim.32]
title=737 SOUTHWEST BLUE
sim=737NG
model=737
panel=
sound=
texture=737_SOUTHWESTB
checklists=
description=ARNZ AIS AIRCRAFT
ui_manufacturer=AIS
ui_type=737-700
ui_variation=SOUTHWEST BLUE
atc_heavy=1
atc_id=737
atc_airline=SOUTHWEST
visual_damage=0
atc_id_color=000000ffff
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=SWA
atc_flight_number=

Ok, open up the 737NG folder and then open up the aircraft.cfg. Paste this:

[fltsim.32]
title=737 SOUTHWEST BLUE
sim=737NG
model=737
panel=
sound=
texture=737_SOUTHWESTB
checklists=
description=ARNZ AIS AIRCRAFT
ui_manufacturer=AIS
ui_type=737-700
ui_variation=SOUTHWEST BLUE
atc_heavy=1
atc_id=737
atc_airline=SOUTHWEST
visual_damage=0
atc_id_color=000000ffff
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=SWA
atc_flight_number=

Make sure the previous entry is one less that [fltsim.32] so the last entry in the cfg should be [fltsim.31]. If there aren't any entries in the cfg make this entry [fltsim.0]. So don't replace it, just add another one below it.

Thanks for your help, DC-10. Sadly it still won't work, so I must be doing something wrong. I can't figure out what, though. Grrrr. :|

This may sound stupid, but make sure in the FS9>Aircraft>B737_400 that the texture files are only one file deep. It's hard to explain, but if both those textures are in one file, and you threw that whole file in the B737_400 file, it won't work. I, likewise, downloaded some of those southwest textures, and I changed the cfg file as above. Then in my aircraft file, I have folders called: texture.cb (canyon blue), texture.sv1, texture.SVA, texture.TC1 (triple crown,) etc... now if all those were in a file called "downloaded SW planes" and put in the aircraft folder, it wouldn't work... sorry for the bad explanation, and if you already know all this... just tell me to shut up... .lol
