Hoping someone who really knows their model planes can help me out on what to buy. I'm looking for a UPS model plane, just about any type, old or new colors.

Right now I'm debating between these two, a Gemini Jets, or a Phoenix:
http://www.theupsdiecaststore.com/ViewProduct.asp?ModelNumber=767-300F
and
http://www.airplaneshop.com/productdetail.html?tablename=PHODIE&id=38

The cost difference between those two is no issue at all, so please don't count that as part of your recommendation.

Also, if you know of any other good sites to buy model planes from, UPS, or anything, please list them.

Thanks!

Strange, I have never seen them on the Gemini Jets website. Could these be fake models or a different make?

The Geminis could be a special order made for UPS.
I haven't heard anything about Phoenix, but I know that Gemini is exceptional quality.

Gemini Jets did make this aircraft. It is sold as a "Corporate model" to UPS employees. They only made the 757, 767, and the MD-11. Go to http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...sOrder=&modelsDir=&modelsPageSize=
to see all the UPS diecast aircraft that have been made. Most of these diecast are no longer made and are very hard to find. I work out on the ramp at UPS in Louisville, KY and it amazes me everytime I help load these aircraft and come home to see the same one I had worked on, sitting on my self in 1:400 scale.
The difference between the two is that the Gemini Jet 767 has no registration number, but the Phoenix version does.

They also make the MD-11 in the newer colors. The registration numbers for the older color is N250UP (Which the real one has actually been painted in the new colors) and the new color MD-11's registration number is N270UP. I bought my at an online UPS store for the employees. The 757 cost $12.95, the 767 cost $13.95, and the MD-11 cost $14.95. Here is a picture of the newer color MD-11. http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...D=370ddc96ba16ea1bbf79816e8d832e66

I decided to get the Gemini Jets model, really a great model, I'm glad I got it.

VS74741R,

The UPSDiecastStore has the MD-11 in the new colors, but currently sold out:

Also, thanks for that url Bryanp292. It's interesting how so few UPS model planes are around. Is FedEx & DHL the same?

Aviationwiz thanks for that  biggrin  I went to that site and it says it has got them in stock so I ordered it straight away! I had been looking for a good model of a UPS MD11 for years.

I do know that Gemini jets make a 727F, A310F, MD10F AND MD11F in Fedex colours and on their website they have loads of models you can buy.

Thanks!

I need to get a FedEx MD-10F after I finish off my UPS collection. I think the MD-10F looks better than the MD-11F in FedEx colors.
