Hi all, I have just fallen into the dark abyss that is model collecting and I have a few questions. I recently bought two Gemini Jets (United 747SP and ElAl 707) and I absolutely love them. And I just got a good deal on a Braniff 747-200 from eBay.
What other companies make nice 1:400 models such as Gemini's? I prefer all metal ones, not the ones with metal bodies and plastic wings.
How is the quaity of AeroClassics? I saw some of the models on the Internet and have fallen in lust with them. But I can't tell how nice they are in person.
Finally, what are some good websites to order from? I found jetcollector.com and airlinemuseum.com.

As far as what other companies make good 1:400 models, Dragon Wings and SOME Herpa models are good.

Welcome to the Dark Side that is die-cast collecting!

AeroClassics are extremely good.I have a few of them, just know that are more expensive.I actually like plastic wings more because the detail that you get is much better than in metal wings.
Just check the winglets in a metal one and a plastic one.I usually buy them from this guy in NY, buchair.com. or when I lived in Chicago I used to buy them at Greyland station. The best thing you could do is to go to geminijets.com. In the retailers section, you will find all the stores that sell Gemini in the world, and usually those stores sell the other brands too, so you will see everything.

Seattle Model Aircraft make excellent DC-9's.
WTF is wrong with the plastic wings, it makes A320 family or anything with winglets look more realistic due to not being able to spread metal as thin.

S'okay. Occasionally computers like to be slow. I know mine has its moments.

May I recommend Big Bird 400? They are by far the best and make unauthorised models that they sell with extreme detail. You can find them at http://www.aviationworld.net
