Hey guys.
First of all, I want to say that irrelevant of what the other forums are posting about the screen shot threads, please keep up the entertainment! I love jumping onto A.Net throughout the day and checking out ss’s from N754, Bully, Hoon's, etc... I guess you can only appreciate it if you’re as addicted to the game as we are! LOL. So yea, please keep it up because I know I am not the only one who looks forward to seeing them.
Anyway, I was wondering if you guys had any problems with adding-on planes. Right now, the only planes I can fly are the standard Orbit airlines, World Travel etc. Mainly because, when I try to fly a plane that’s been added-on, my computer stutters to the point where you can’t even play. My question to you is this: Are there any add-ons that are relatively small in file size, or that would just act normal on my computer!? (Just incase you are wondering, I am using a Toshiba laptop that’s just over 1 yr old....can you buy graphics card upgrades for a laptop? My ram is 512mb.)
My final question is about the MD83's that you see flying around all the time. FS9 integrated this plane into the game, but you can’t fly it? It seems like they are all over the place...do I need to unlock it or something? I would have thought it was right on the main menu.

First of all adding on downloaded aircraft is pretty straight forward, there are a lot of sites where you can do this at no cost.
AVSIM.com
flightsim.com
simviation.com
FSDome.com
surclaro.com
...
Numerous other ones.
About your Laptop, the Toshiba satellite pro series actually has a separate video card (only one I know off that is constructed this way) but it cannot be upgraded, no Laptop possesses that capability, best to invest in extra RAM iso other graphic cards anyway.
For the MD83 , you can actually fly them if you want to but you'll need to use a downloaded panel for it, I for one wouldn't bother because its flightdynamics are poor (made for AI-use in mind) and the model is far from good (eyecandy-wise).
There are some excellent freeware packages with a realistic panel and sound option, SGA comes in mind here, they have all the DC9-MD8X-MD9X series with real life liveries.

Nope.you need the Air file or something like that.Anyways,at simviation.com there is all you need to make them flyable.Write ''default MD 83'' and you will get it.

Thanks for all your responses! I was just thinking about something though: Why does my computer act all slow when its an add-on aircraft, but not a default aircraft? Is the file THAT much bigger?

Hi there!!!
Yes...some add-on aircraft can severely slow down your computer...thats why I upgraded to a 128MB card....
avsim.com or all the other download-sites offer a file that make the default MD-80 and DH-8 flyable...
