It was pretty fun flying around the world on the default Boeing 737-400. Flew via:

Hong Kong
Bombay
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Rome
London Heathrow
Gothab, Greenland
New York
Los Angeles LAX
Honolulu
Wake Island
Guam
Hong Kong

Hope you'll have plenty of fun!

Thanks!

I have arrived in JFK. Any open suggestions are welcome on what I should take to Europe.

You inspired me to start my own around the world flight. I think I will fly it in an Eastern A300. Here is my proposed routing:

1. IAH-LPAZ
2. LPAZ-TLV
3. TLV-DEL
4. DEL-NRT
5. NRT-HNL
6. HNL-LAX
7. LAX-IAH

Check out the map!

Cba, what version of FS are you using? My FS 98 doesn't have New Delhi! Is it FS2K?
B747-400, try flying across the pond with a B737-400 with a stopover in Greenland!
A navigation software would be very helpful as the FS map is not all that accurate although I did mine with just the map.

No New Delhi in FS98? Hmm, I guess I'll just reroute through Bombay instead.

BTW, the best navigation program for FS98 is FSNavigator. You can't go wrong with it. The only downside is that it doesn't program approaches.

Cba, I have FSNavigator now but have been unable to program it to Auto Fly Flightplan. It never corrects the plane's course so that I can just leave the PC alone for long periods of time and do something else. How do I program the thing?

I have the same problem, I use ACS-GPS to fly my plans, and I build them in FSNavigator. It saves in ACS-GPS format.

Just finished my IAH-LPAZ leg. I will begin the LPAZ-TLV leg tomorrow afternoon, resuming at the same time that I left off at. I inputed the date 7/5/01 into FS so I could have longer days.

LEG 1:
Depart IAH, 7/5/01; Arrive LPAZ 18:51, 7/5/01

I'll keep posting as I fly. Boeing 747-400, how'd your JFK-CDG flight go?

I have the same problem with FSNav. Whenever I engage the AP, it turns left to 360. Never will fix itself. Won't even fly the SID! At least the new version has intersections...

I also have finally gotten around to doing an around the world flight. I am currently using the default 773 in fs2k beacuse I have just recently installed the program and haven't had the time to download any fs2k planes yet. I am going to add a BA 744 soon.

So far I have flown:

SFO-HNL
HNL-NRT

I plan to fly onto possible Hong Kong, then Bombay, Dubai, Zurich, London, JFK, ORD, Denver, and back to San Francisco.

I use Abacus CoPilot V2.0 because it hooks up directly to your planes autopilot and will fly you there directly or VOR-VOR to the destination (FS98 or later). Incredibly awesome add-on, comes in very handy for the longhauls!
