I've never seen one in real life. Yes it does cruise at altitudes where contrails are formed. The contrail from an AN-225 must be large as it is powered by six engines.

I've seen it in-flight, and have even gone up close to one several times back when I worked the ramp. They like using ONT as a fuel stop.
