Hello,
A screenshot related question. Since my re-install of FS2K2 it happens that upon replaying my landing that the flaps and gear are retracted and the plane lands literally in the air. It doesn't happen always. Do you have a hint for me how to get the darn thing to land in full landing configuration?

Found an unused airfield northeast of Narita Airport with an 8800 ft runway. Great for landing practice.
Did a greaser with an A320 I was rather proud of. Too bad the tires didn't smoke on touchdown.
Kudos to IFDG for an awesome Finnair A320 model.

What is it with FS and obstacles at the end of the runway? I am looking at one of Gofly's pics and I am seeing trees very close to the runway. There are a few major airports where there are many buildings and trees that are simply too close to the field. Kai Tak is especially bad.

The trees you are looking at, are part of a payware scenery. They are not default FS. I guess they were added there because there are actually some trees at LGW near the end of the runway.
Then again, maybe they were added to make it look pretty!

Can be annoying, but since we have to live with it, it makes the approach more challenging!

I agree it does make the approaches a little more fun. I get a kick outta seeing my 747 shadow on the rooftops of Hong Kong. One time I totally botched the approach and actually touched down on one of the buildings. Pulled the nose up too early and applied power too late. I lost too much speed and bounced off the roof. I didn't want to stall and crash so I immediately went to full power and went around for a second (and, this time, successful) landing.
Oh, I did a short run from NRT to JAH. Check out the incredibly smokey touchdown!
I'm not sure I have ever seen a 737 smoke that much!

Thanks!! I had only about 5 or maybe 10 degrees of flaps down and landed at around 140 knots. Does that sound reasonable, too fast, too slow, comments welcome.

Usually If I don't have my flaps all the way down my planes drop like a rock at 140kts. Check out my 747 shots above; Those flaps are all the way down to keep her from dropping too steeply, and I'm doing more than 170kts with a light load. Oh and she likes to stall at 160.
