Hi,
I have a problem with Avsim...When I download an aircraft, at the end of the download...I get a message saying " This file is either corrupt or invalid" and appears not to have downloaded.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Is it fixable, and how?

Thank-You,
AerLingus330

The other day I couldnt get anything from ANY freeware sight. I kept getting a little window saying there was no data in the download, and the download would not go through.

AerLingus.

Try opening the compressed zip folder by right clicking it then "Open With" then "Compressed (zipped) Folders"

Should work.

Isn't that just for Firefox users? I've never seen that on Internet Explorer (back when I used it), but I have on Firefox.

I read the help file on avsim and it said to click Save on the Download Dialog instead of Open...

So, I have another problem, when I click Download on Avsim...It just automatically downloads and the Download Dialog does not show up, So it must be set to open instead of save, to give me the corrupt message. So I have to acess the dialog to change it...
Does anyone know how to access it manually to change the setting to save?

Thank-You  Smile

I have had this problem before. I eventually download winzip, which doesn't seem to have so many problems reading the zip files.

I think there is also a link to the file on the download page. Try right-clicking the link and selecting "save target as" and find a location for the file yourself rather than letting IE just download it. I have found that this helps getting rid of that error.

Hi, on your browser menu bar (up top) Click as follows.....

Tools
Internet Options

Select 'Security' then 'Custom Level'

Scroll down to the section marked 'Downloads' and make sure the 'Automatic Prompting For File Downloads' is marked as Enable.

Close the browser then try to download a file from Avsim again.

That should hopefully have solved your problem  Smile
