Just bought Flight Sim 2004 and tried to add new aircraft...I can downlaod them and extract the files but nothing shows up in the sim and I can't figure out how to get to the aircraft editor?

Any Help would be great

Ray

There is no aircraft editor in FS 2004.

You must make sure you unzip the files to a temporary folder, then open the first folder and copy the second folder into

C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Aircraft

If there is more than 1 folder in the first folder, then just copy the first folder into C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Aircraft.

Thanks
Mike

If more is involved than just an aircraft folder, there should be a text file with installation instructions. As DogFighter2111 says, unless you know exactly what the structure of the zipped file is, unzip it to a temporary folder and see if there's a text file with instructions. Winzip extracts to C:/Unzipped/-filename-/ by default. E.g. a file called Artichoke.zip would be extracted to the folder C:/Unzipped/Artichoke/ which Winzip will create (replace the slashes with backslashes - I can't get them to appear in the post).

You should Copy and paste the files in the folders they need to go to. extratcing them using the wizard does not always work.

You mean extracting directly from the zip file into the FS folders? Yes, definitely better to extract to a temporary folder first.

Hi folks, I have another question... I've downloaded quite a few AI files and they are working just fine. But, how do I get rid of the fictional airlines/traffic generated by FS2004?

It's been swell, but the swelling has gone down.
