Hi guys,

I've got a problem with my pmdg 747, when I start a flight, the displays are there (PFD, ND, etc), but after about 30-40 seconds they simply vanish to blank.

Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? Any help greatly appreciated!

Your best bet is to check the support forums on PMDG's website for your answer. It's always best to try to contact the vendor first since they know the product inside and out.

I checked the support forum in great detail, but the only info i could get was to reinstall, which i have done twice now.... but that didnt solve the problem. I think this is a pretty common problem, so im hoping someone on here has the soultion.

cheers

Your PMDGoptions.dll (think that's it's name) from the 744 is 'clashing' with the 737 version.

I think I read somewhere that can happen sometimes? :S

Yes it is a cracked version, could this be a built in anti piracy item?

The PMDG 744 virtual cockpit often disappears on me some time between pre-start and taxying (I haven't spotted a pattern yet). All I have to do is save the flight, reload the aircraft and reload the PMDG panel settings but it would be nice to know why it happens. It's a kosher version.  Smile

You should forget what the "experts" say and watch more TV.  Smile

From http://www.dictionary.com :

1. Judaism.
a. Conforming to dietary laws; ritually pure: kosher meat.
b. Selling or serving food prepared in accordance with dietary laws: a kosher restaurant.
2. Slang.
a. Legitimate; permissible: “consolidating noneditorial functions of the papers, which is kosher” (Christian Science Monitor).
b. Genuine; authentic.

Now, if only I could learn why my VC keeps disappearing...  Sad

Gents-

The behavior described in this thread is generally indicative of an invalid or tampered-with user license.

If a user installs a pirated copy of the software, this is one of a few behaviors that the product exhibits.

If the user tampers with the protection system, this is one of the behaviors that the product will exhibit.

So in either case, this should not happen- but in both cases the behavior is triggered by the user attempting to circumvent our intellectual property protections..... (Remember when such things weren't necessary? It's too bad that they are basically required now....)

We are a very small company that works very hard to provide products that can be used as a solid basis for learning about airliner operations and diving deeper into the fascination we all share with aviation and airliners.

If you are using a stolen/pirated copy of our software- why not support our efforts to expand the hobby by purchasing a valid copy?

Those of you who do own a valid copy, thank you. All of us appreciate your support. (note- if you have a valid copy and can provide proof of purchase- write to our technical support team and we'll do everything we can to get your running correctly.... Just tell us what is wrong and we'll help you out!)

While I recomend you purchase the Queen. I must say this can happen to the legitamate version as well. it happened to me after I manually installed some repaints. My fix was reverting back to the original aircraft.cfg which i always back up before tampering. The problem wasn't the repaints themeselves as I eventually was able to add them, but probably some file corruption the first time the file was saved after altering the text in notepad.

Whoops... I certainly wasn't expecting anyone from PMDG to deal with the problem over here, just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and fixed it. Roughly translated: I was being lazy. You won't get any argument from me about software piracy.

Well, this seems like a good opportunity to say what great products the 737 NG and 744 are - worth every penny, in my opinion.
