Greeting All,
There are a few very good modelers out there who have contructed and released some great AI models. AI Aardvark made great models of the Boeing fleet. Evolve AI is doing great stuff with Airbus. FSPainter has respectable models of Airbus and other aircraft. CDAI has a number of commuters, and HTAI has general aviation covered very well! My question to you is, what is missing? What models would you like to see that are not covered already?
For my input, I would like to see more military aircraft. There are a number of cargo models available, but I would like to see more fighters and bombers in the AI world.
I also would like to see a replacement for the Project AI Dash-8 100 through 400.
My interest is due to the fact I would like to design an AI aircraft for freeware use, and would like to get a concensus of what everyone would like to see.

Me to! I also think they should make A330, A340, and MD-11!

Hi KPDX,
One thing that has always puzzled me is the relationship between Project AI and FSPainter. For instance, with some FSP aircraft, you can use Project AI textures with the a bit of renaming of the files. FSP does make some pretty good models of the Airbus planes, but I'm not completely sure they are anywhere near the level of AI Aardvark and EvolveAI.
For me, the Project AI Dash-8 was a good model when it was first released (PAI was just about the first AI model creator out there, so my kudos...) but it definately needs a replacement. The same holds true for some of the other PAI commuters like the Fokker F50. Thank God for HTAI and CDAI who came out with some good models for the more common aircraft!

I'd like to see the E190/195 modeled. I was hoping that Aardvark would do this, since they did the E170/175, but sadly that will never happen.

Yeah, I need the EMB-190s for B6 and AC, but there is literally nothing for that. I agree as well that the Dash-8s need to be updated and improved...
BTW, I used to be a huge FSP fan, up until maybe a few weeks ago even, but now that I have downloaded the EvolveAI A320/A321s, I am working to replace all my FSP A320s with EvolveAI.
Now that AI Aardvark is out of the picture, I really hope EvolveAI will start doing some of the other FSP models like the A340. I currently think the only FSP model I don't want to see improved is their 777v3. Those are amazing.

Hey Tim!
What program are you intending to use to create your model? I am an FSDS user and highly recommend it.
Also, when you get started make sure you don't pick something extremely complicated. It's best to get your feet wet on something simple and take on more challenging projects as your skills improve and your comfort level using the program grows. I think thats where a lot of people falter when they try their hand at painting or modelling. They try to do too much at once and become frustrated and quit.
Let me commend you for taking the initiative to try this Tim. There are plenty of people out there who for some reason or other have decided that developing stuff for FS (repaints, flightplans, models, etc) is too difficult and as a result hop from site to site asking for stuff. Thanks for not being one of them!
If I can be of service please don't hesitate to conact me.

Hi Kelly,
I'm using FSDS version 3 (just got it - I had been using FSDS v2). With version 2 I made myself a B717, but I didn't think it was worth uploading. I really want to learn how to put those planes together!
As far as being a contributer instead of waiting for someone else to make it I have been using all the various versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator since version 2, and probably have thousands and thousands of hour flying time. I've had such a good time through it all that a few years ago I decided to try to share the joy I received. The first thing I did was try to learn how to do repaints. I've got that down pretty good now. I've also done a few AI flight plans. For my next project; modeling!
