So its been forever since I got an add-on that came in a box on a Cd so I'd like to ask for one for my birthday. I often had to travel with OH and ASA on the CRJ and have looked at Wilco's CRJ 2004. Is it any good? What about the other B777 and b767 add-ons that they have? I am not to techincal so something that makes u pay for a lot of the dials and features that i might not use wouldn't be worth it. What I do like are the wing views and an autoland would be cool.
Thanks,
Andre

I would avoid payware aircraft in general if you're not into buttons and dials. The Wilco CRJ is a decent product, but it sounds like it's beyond your range.

I'd look at some scenery or traffic programs.

you should try to understand how an FMC works, it will make FS so much more fun, and you'll love it once you get to know how to use it. It is not more than a couple of months ago since I learned how to use it. I didn't want to read 80 pages about how to use an FMC in the pmdg manual, so I just tried using it and slowly figured out how it worked. Now I refuse to fly an aircraft if an FMC isn't included  Smile

Also if you like the CRJ, please check out www.projectopensky.com they have some awesome freeware models

The PMDG 737 or the Level D 763 are the ones i would buy.Don't worry to much about the FMC you can just enter the IACO 4 letter code into the FMC for depature and arrival.e.g EGLL(enter top l fmc)-KLAX(top r fmc) put in a flight no.(1234) then go to page 2 and enter the KLAX into top r fmc then press 2 more buttons activate the FMC.The reason i do this is when my pc crashes i lose all the information i put into the fmc so i put in the least i can get away with.

Yeah same here, it seems a lot more realistic and fun with the FMC involved!

We need a place to kick it. Don't be selfish, Anton! No one else's parents are dead!

yes, and if you have a routeplanner it gets even more fun, because then you are programming in a route with VOR's that is realistic, instead of just flying directly

so with the FMC stuff aside (i will prob. get into that) is the CRJ 2004 a good program to get? In terms of sounds, realism etc?

I think you are better off with the freeware models at www.projectopensky.com if you don't feel like paying for addons, but idk though, because I have not tried CRJ2004.. I can also recommend Level D 767 and PMDG 737 & 747

KLM672 - If you are looking for a payware addon then you will probably be learning all about the FMC, Autopilot, etc. If you dont feel like doing this then I would suggest just staying with the freeware stuff. I have the PMDG 737-800/900 and the Professional A340/330. They are so much more fun to fly with the FMC. I now have a really hard time going back to the freeware aircraft. The FMC adds a whole new dimension to the flying.

Lastordu - I have the Professional A330/340. They flightdeck is very good, but the visual image is not as good as the PMDG. If you are looking for an airbus addon then the Professional is a good choice though. The 707 and the 727 and the B777-200LR look really good. But PMDG is best!!!

Dang! A lot of people have B-days in May. Then I'll just add to it. My B-day is May 10th. haha

Hope this answers some of your questions.

Dan

I know exactly what you need!

Go to sky-decks.com and get their panels. They have a CRJ Panel for 14.95 USD and a 737NG Panel for 12.95. They also both come with aircraft, even though the airplanes are freeware. These two panels are extremely easy to use and I enoy them a lot. You can see a review of them at my website www.gamingreviews-online.com . Click on the PC Games link at the homepage.

It will absolutely be worth it, I can guaratee that. Plus Level-D are currently working on a Boeing 757 and I'm sure that one will be as kickass, maybe even better, than their 767.  bigthumbsup
