Good spot!

I'm grateful to PSS for their A330/340 but a PMDG Airbus version would be awesome! I want to "fly" Airbus planes as well but PMDG have had me hooked on the Boeings ever since I bought their 737-600/700.

As I said about the 744F... ME WANT NOW!  hissyfit

thanks! I accidentally happened to see it on www.precisionmanuals.com
I am usually not checking their website very often, but I wanted to see if there was any news about the MD-11, and then I saw the news about the A320 which was even better than I could ever have hoped for!

Should be a great product compaired to the PSS one, i thought that was a bit over-rated, the IDFG models were far better, and cheaper..  laughing

Yeah, of course it will, because it's close to three years newer.  Yeah sure

I do hope they include the 318, 319 and 321 at some point - PSS did things the right way with that (well, minus the 318, which wasn't around at the time). The panel would be the same, and the flight model should be similar because of the FBW.

I know what you mean and, like you, I get a bit fed up with the criticism of PSS but I do think PMDG will throw more resources at this and justify a probable higher price. That doesn't make PSS bad, it just makes PMDG better... IMHO. Who knows how PSS's next effort will turn out?  Smile

And, of course, we'll have a whole new round of "it's not worth the money, get a freebie".  sarcastic

I can't wait for the MD-11, by far my favorite plane by far. Im sure the A320 will be amazing too since PMDG always has the highest quality aircraft.

Im kind of disappointed that they will not be making a B777 in the near future, both PSS and Wilco are and will be less than high-quality.

Well PSS haven't learnt anything because they still screwed up with the 777 so even if they brought out a new 320 the PMDG 320 would still be better  Smile

Although I hear they got rid of the guy who does the models and that after the 777 mess so maybe we'll start to see some nice a/c from them... who knows...

We also anticipate updating the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies and PMDG 747-400F Queen of the Skies CARGO to make them compatible with FSX. We anticipate that this update will be made available **upon or soon after** the arrival of FSX. This update will have a VERY modest price tag since the PMDG 747-400 product line will be nearly 16 months old upon FSX release.

So they are going to charge to update the 744 series so its compatiable with FSX. At the most, it will only be a FDE modification and probally some problems with effects and all, but I doubt it would be anything major just to port it over to FSX.

PMDG's products have always been better than PSS's, and will likely continue to be. But I am sick to death of people saying that PSS sucks because their visual models aren't great. If I'm going to get an add-on with the level of complexity of PSS (or PMDG for that matter), what the outside looks like is not of critical importance to me, nor is the VC - I fly from the 2D panel. What's important is the systems - and PSS does a pretty good job with those. I've said it before, and I'll likely say it again - I've yet to see a better Airbus in terms of flight deck realism. PSS has held the top spot in that category from the day of release. That was back in 2002. PMDG's Airbus won't be out until 2007, I'm betting. Can you think of any other product that has worn the crown for so long (close to five years, and two versions of FS)? If the PSS was as bad as some people say, couldn't a competitor make a better one and make good money off of it? Of course they could, and yet nobody has (though several have tried and failed) - that's enough for me to give PSS some decent respect.

If the model is so important to people, there's always the IFDG or POSKY merge.

With you all the way on that (though I do like a good VC coupled with Track-IR  Smile ).

I didn't realize you'd dug this one up from long long ago when I first replied...oops.

Probably FSX only unfortunately. They've already announced their next 737 project will be FSX only.

Fortunately, there is another A320 in production that has the potential to be better than PMDG's standard, and will be for FS2004.

Yeah, only real reason I buy payware products is for the full flightdeck complete with the FMC/CDU and all... generally POSKY's models are better than what the payware providers turn out, although PMDG's 744 and 737NG series are on par if not better.
