HI guys and girls,

Well while on approach to moscow (DME) at night time on the Sim I wondered whether all the simmers here prefer landing at night or day?
Personally i prefer landing at night time, my distance perception is alot better then and today while doing a night time flight i done my best ever landing, nose wheel centerline, by watching the Alt roughly 50Fpm landing and barely a float.

So which do you prefer night or day time landings?

I love landing at dawn, beautiful views, especially landing on the 09's at LHR on a clear day.

That can be the case in an actual aircraft as well. One of my flight instructors gave me the tip to just watch the end of the runway and let the plane sink onto the runway. As a result, my night landings (in a real aircraft) are much smoother then most of my day landings.

As far as FS goes, I prefer the daytime landings because I like to look out the window and watch the scenery go by.

I love landing at night aswell. - You can't beat all the flashing strobe lights of the AI aircraft on the ground, and the runway approach lights etc.

When flying at night I often go to spot view and just admire the aircraft flying and the strobe lights flashing and the glare the Nav lights on the wing tips....!

I know what ya mean, I love flying near/approaching busy airports and just watching all these red and green dots moving all over the place, real cool!

I would have to go with Dawn or Dusk. You can get some nice colors.

My only complaint about that is, they're all in sync with each other, which is unrealistic and frustrating. If there is a way to get that sorted out, then it'd be amazing!

Cheers,

Agreed! Dusk or Dawn for me. I also like the lights from the runway during night, but I usually prefer landing at daylight though.

Yep, thats how I feel too.

Dusk, with just a little fog and/or clouds for added effect.  Smile
