Hello,
I was wondering, do you collectors look at what you collect or keep it in bags in mint collection. For example some comic book collectors collect comics, but never read them and place them in bags and do not touch them to keep them in the best condition. I feel that collecting like that defeats the whole purpose of collecting. What do you collectors think? I collect magazines and keep them out on my shelf so when I am bored I look at their route maps and fleet configuration. How do you manage your collections?

Well..........I collect herpa airplane models and I still have them in their boxes under my bed but only because my kid brother will take them. I have an airport too that i will like to display with my planes sometime in the future because i would like to see them more often and have them displayed. I guess other people have different ways of treasuring their collections.

Oh My God!!!! Someone that I can relate to. I collect inflight magazines and am so proud of my collection that I went out and bought a little two-tier bookcase and keep them all displayed. Like you, when I get bored, I look through them and it really is entertaining. Even my roommates love looking through them. I have them all in chronological order from earliest to today, and it's a lot of fun to see what music was on the inflight entertainment systems back in the 70s and 80s. They are not in plastic, I don't believe in not enjoying them. I'd love to know what you have and compare with mine. Happy collecting

Magazines: I don´t really collect them, I just take one with me every time I fly and don´t throw them away (getting the LH Magazin sent into the house for free also helps ). I keep them in my shelf but don´t read in them but look things up when I´m looking for a specific info.
Safetycards: I have them in transparent plastic bags, put into folders. Browsing through them from time to time doesn´t do them no harm.
Airsickness bags: Same as safety cards.
By the way, AirOne, you couldn´t get me a bag of your namesake airline?

A lot of people are hung up on the value of things. If it's not mint it's not worth as much. If it's not in the box
or sealed like it came the value is lower. I have things because I enjoy them and not because of what I might
be able to sell them for someday. How can you enjoy something when it's all sealed up and put away.
