Wow, that is kind of a chilling video....even with the sim's cockpit warnings at the end. And the music, even though I like Johnny Cash, I like the original by Nine Inch Nails better. I still remember hearing that song for the first time live, sent chills down by body.

I just searched for "f-16" on www.avsim.com under fs2004 original aircraft. It is the first airplane that pops up.

The model is by Kirk Olsson and the repaint is by Claus Vendelboe Holmberg

You think yours is bad, i was flying a Heathrow - Australia flight a couple days ago started about 12 midday and at night time i checked it was sufficiently fuelled and then went off to sleep in our tent with a couple of mates, came back in and the bloody thing had crashed 10 mins after id checked!!

Appears to have been the fuel from the front tanks was used up first so the back became uneven pitched the aircraft up and it stalled of course in a stall AP pulls the aircraft up so i hit the ground at -20000 FPM, thats what im guessing happened.

Rgds --James--

P.S. Anyone working on some movies? I am although proably wont be done till tomorow morning.

On fraps it seems you can only get uncompressed 30 second videos unless you PAY for it. How does anyone here create longer videos if they are using it for free, let alone compress them? I'd like to post some videos of my JAL 747-200 flight coming up in a few days.

Hey Jet,
When I made mine, I recorded about 15, 30 second clips using free Fraps. I would just hit F9 (the movie hotkey in Fraps) at certain points during my flight.
After that, I used MS Moviemaker and edited the clips together. It's actually pretty simple.
If you want longer clips, you can either pay from the full version of Fraps, or you can just record a series of continuous clips. But, still, the individual clips will still only be 30 seconds long, you just have to string them together.
As far as the compression, that will happen when you save you work from movie maker.

Russ

I have been looking for a good 707.

Hey ANstar!
If you are using Fraps, all you need to do is make sure Fraps is running when you are doing your flight.
When you want to capture a video clip, just hit the F9 key, and Fraps will record a 30 second clip (with the free version).

The clip is then auto-saved in the Fraps folder.

That's all there is to it.

Sorry, the 707 is the Captain Sim version, which is payware, but highly recommended. I'm going to try to put together a landing video if I can, after this flight. It might be on the next flight however, because the next landing is in the dark. I am splitting my Rio De Janeiro to Paris flight in two possibly, landing in Tenerife to take on more fuel.

I know what you mean! It seems to be a captain sim bug Oh well, maybe there is a patch on their website. I should think it only needs a texture replacement.

Well here is a flight I started from Tenerife North to Paris, but a fuel leak meant we diverted to Lisbon instead. This videos a bit better than the last one and my landing is in it too.

It's lucky that Moviemaker has some sort of an autosave feature, my computer froze and I had to restart it without ever saving my work.  banghead

Actually, I would say it was a tail "srape." The second puff of smoke is when I tipped the nose back down to try and avoid a tail strike and the right side mlg came back down like I was landing.

Thanks for the compliment though.

It seemed like it was ok. I know with most aircraft, the spoilers deploy after touchdown. But on the RJ85, I always see the rear speedbrake deployeed before touchdown.

Hi all,

I have been doing videos with a new combat flight simulator called Il-2 Cliffs of Dover. It really has nothing to do with the classic Il-2 series, but is made by the same Russian programming team.

The graphics are awesome and really demand a cutting edge computer, but what has impressed me the most about "CoD" is the complex engine management. For the first time we have "FS add-on plane"-quality engine management in a flight sim where you can ALSO fly around and shoot down others... Not only the engine management but also the physics modelling, the flight modelling, the ballistics, etc, etc are top notch: truly next-gen.

The sim came out earlier this year and was pretty buggy to begin with. It has been overhauled with quite a few patches since then and now runs well on a high-end computer.

I think the vids really speak for themselves, though, so check them out. The last three vids are the latest I've made and have been filmed online, against other live players. All the others are flown against the AI, off-line.

I have merely uploaded video captures of my flights (no editing whatsoever!) and then added annotations in youtube, just for fun... So, all the speech bubbles and text are added by me later on, but the rest you see is straight out of the sim, unedited.

Enjoy these, and comments very welcome!

Cheers,
Ellehammer
