Hi everyone,

Just wondering how many of you out there will be purchasing the new FSX when it goes out on full release??

I have to admit, I do love the look of it, but I have done so much work on my FS2004 over the past 2 years, and at present, it is at its best its been. I think it will be very hard for me to part from it.

So, FSX may be a year or so away for me yet.

What are your thoughts?

Same here. While I want to run out and buy it straight away, I've spent too much time on sceneries, AI aircraft, AFCADs and everything to just uninstall FS9 and start again.

Like you, I'll wait for a year or so, and make sure I read comments from everyone who has bought it.

I'll buy it should I find it here in Costa Rica. I'll probably make a separate installation, so I can keep FS9 and go more and more into FSX, the more releases for FSX are made.

Same here.

I spent so many hours upgrading and changing everything from planes, sounds, textures, water, skies, airports, scenery and all, also i spent more than 500 euros on software and hardware upgrades to bring it where it is that i won't be parting with it soon. Plus i hear a lot of bad stuff at the moment for FSX so it's no thank you for me. Fs2004 the Dec version is gorgeous for me  Wink

Same here but I did the same with previous versions. That's life! The sooner I get started on FSX add-ons, the more time I'll have to use them.

I thought about waiting...but after seeing the Beta 3 by another aviation student on my college dorm floor...needless to say, I have pre-orded the Deluxe version on Amazon.com, for 1-day delivery. I can't wait to try it with my CH Products Flight Sim Yoke, USB Rudder Pedals, and twin-engine Throttle Quadrant setup.

I will order the Deluxe Version as soon as possible next month, even my PC is not the best for it, but it will help me troubleshoot what needs to be worked on.

I will of course install it seperate from my FS9, I got plenty of HDD space, 200GB left so I can handle both simulators and my 3rd party stuff on FS9

Also another factor, is you should always buy FS X before upgrading your PC, cause you might find out FS X sucks in features  Smile and you save money by not bothering to upgrade he he

Yeap I'll be buying it for sure. I kind of slipped out of simming this past year as I've had a laptop as my only computer which was pretty old and very slow... giving it FS2004 to chew on pretty much would kill it! Still, I've not got a nice new desktopnow with a 20 inch screen and 7.1 surround sound, I'll be looking forwards to having a good play as soon as it comes out biggrin

its getting to be an expensive hobby for me, (at least until i start my private pilot) i just got in the CH Products Yoke and Petals setup today, there's $200 bucks right there. I do plan on buying FSX as soon as it comes out. But i know to really joy it i will be buying Vista and a DX10 card once both are released.

My current computer is not that bad but to really enjoy the upgraded graphics of FSX you are going to HAVE to run Vista w/ a DX10 vid card.

the point of the matter is that im looking to spend at least another $100 this fall between FSX DLX and an nice pair of USB headset, plus at least $500 this winter on Vista and and a good video card.

I'm in the same boat as you are. I have invested a small fortune (in my opinion) in add on's alone (new computer came due to the old one failing). Until Simflyers, Flytampa, ActiveCamera, ActiveSky, FSPassengers, PMDG, Ultimate Traffic, and Level D provide patches, not to mention the freeware products: Meljet, POSky, IFDG, and their respective sound sets, AFCAD files, and panels become abundant and available in FSX I'll wait.

When a reputable source tells me that it doesn't suck, I'll think about it. I barely have enough time to use my great FS9 setup as it is, so I'm not really rushing to upgrade to FSX.

yea ill be buying it. Ill install it alongside FS9 so I can continue to fly for my VA, and fly the PMDG / Level-D aircraft.

The demo ran fairly smoothly on my cuirrent machine, so I might be OK machine wise.

Ill end up buying FSX eventually, so I may as well just buy it now!

Does anyone know of a set release date yet? Has it been announced?

When I buy a new laptop or a computer in the next few years, that's when I'll get FSX.

Spent too much damn money and time on FS2004 and I've only had it not even for a year ater I bought this laptop. I'll keep using FS2004 until I get bored of it and then upgrade.  Smile

All video games are normally released on tuesdays in the USA and fridays in the UK.

I believe the 17th is a tuesday so I think it's unlikely to be any of those other dates you mentioned. The 3rd is too son - the UK release isn't gonig to be before the 27th, I don't think they'd leave such a big gap between the two.

25 Post contains images Nighthawk : Amazon.co.uk is quoting 13th October for release. I just pre-ordered it for £49.99, so shoul be here as soon as its released Cant wait

32 Jdl1527 : just to let every one know, i was lucky to find a copy of FSX DLX locally (YUB TSEB) got it installed and running, but i must say its owns my system.
33 AC21365 : Yeah the Demo owned my system pretty good, I anticipate the full game will do the same. I'm running an almost identical setup as yourself: AMD Optero
34 AlanCHS : I purchased it last night and will definitely keep FS2004 on the system. FSX loads horribly slow and if you change aircraft in flight it takes about 4
