well a lot of aerobatic planes are experimental for one reason or another...pitts has factory built planes such as the S1T and S2B S2C etc....some are ex and some are not....most S1S's are ex because they were homebuilt so to speak. Extra has a few that are ex such as the EX300XS....stuff like that....for companies ranging in price from 20-250k theres Pitts (Aviat) Extra Flug...something, Zivko makes the Edge 540 Cap 231-232-10, Sukohi and Yak along with SP91 and 95....American Champ makes the Decathalon and Citabria (lower end) Theres more Im forgetting........aerobatic planes especially EX ones are really expensive to insure if not impossible some times.! email me with other questions if you want

Hmmm... does this mean that it can only fly if it's upside down or doing loops? That would make cross countries really exciting...
Kidding asside, what does the friend want to do with the plane? If they want a fun little one or two seater i would check out the Pitts.. Not many planes can do this...
Then of course there's always the Extra 300.. also another nice plane:

Quoting KPDX (Reply 4): Lol, the Pitts picture is a large RC plane.
Well he didn't say what size of a plane he wanted...
I guess that explains the two guys holding that little box..
