Why is the limit that low? Usual turbulence penetration speed is 280 KIAS. Is the Airbus different in that way?

Unfortunately I can't use FSpass due to owning a mac and using xplane  Sad

You CAN go as fast as the aircraft can go! But it is said that you have to maintain 250 knots below 10,000 feet... not 12,000 feet...

But if you are in special airspaces and ATC approves: you can fly 340 knots...

True. I just got curious since FSpax word it as if the plane will self destruct if the speedlimit is blown. Some airports have speed limit points already at 17000 ft. The swedish ATC quite often allow free speed all the way down if the airspace isn't congested. That doesn't mean max speed since the risk of birdstrikes is great at low altitudes.

Well, if you break the speed limit with some things you may aswell have the plane slef destruct. Like gear, flaps and spoilers.

I usually choose departing from KDCA (Ronald Reagan, Wash. DC) for that  Wink
I've tried several flights out of Baghdad and you really get shot at over there. Only once I managed to land a few minutes after departure with the landing gear up, and virtually nothing working on the plane. I did get a lot of points Big grin
