So, the next release includes an Il-18. Wow, don't have many of those flying anymore! Can't wait to see the details!

BTW justplanes, the Westjet 736 DVD is outstanding. Will send my comments for the site once I've finished the last little bit I have left. I'll have to get the Westjet 737 DVD sometime soon too...

I dont think the old post should be delete as some of the info on there may be interesting to those that have not read it already. There is some background info from JP on some of their products and inside stories. It did get a bit long so I can understand if it does get deleted.

Cheers

The IL-18 was not an easy one to get but it's been on our list for a couple of years. We had narrowed it down to the Cuban airline, which we flew on the Cubana dvd to Nassau with an ATR42... or this African airline.
Considering we've been to Cuba and have include a few domestic routes, which is what this airline does for the most part, we picked Africa. It didn't look like we would get many chance to cover routes in Djibouti and Somalia and I think we picked well.
The program also covers the Antonov 24 which we did on video I believe but do not have on dvd yet... and also the always interesting B737-200 on a roundtrip to Dubai.
There is very little pilot interaction. They're all Russian and spoke very little, if any, English but the visuals are what makes this program I believe so it does not really matter.

justplanes,

Did i see a note on your site that coming up next is a US airline doing cargo ops in Alaska? It was there before but not now with the new site look. Would be awesome if it was Northern Air Cargo flying their 727 freighters, but whoever it is, I rather think I'll be getting it when it's released!

Note: Review comments of Westjet 736 DVD sent a few minutes ago. Great DVD, highly recommended! One of your best so far!

First of all let me invite you to take a look at the new main page of worldairroutes.com, its no secret that I enjoy airport arrival and departure screens (hahaha) so that's what we're looking at right now... + the list of dvds which was getting rather long now has its own page so the front page loads up rapidly... It took me less than 5 seconds to get the page but I don't believe everyone has cable internet yet...

You are correct about the next airline being from the US and featuring cargo ops in Alaska. Other than Anchorage on the Atlas Air 747 program we had never really been in this amazing place and now we will have flights to 10 destinations such as Nome and Kotzebue.
Because of some paperwork issues we weren't able to get our regular crews to film this job and had one of our production guys direct it... he is a professional video guy, still learning about planes, however the result came out great I think... and the proof is that it ended up being more than 3 and a half hours...
I'll have some more stories on this one as we get closer to the release date... and, as shown on the website right now, we're already planning our 183rd airline for 2 weeks after this one... We'll revisit some Airbus aircraft for that one as it's been a while and we want to keep everyone happy  Smile

Jstplanes, when you talked about the Il-18 you say there were two possible candidates. Something that I've always wondered is if you have to pay the airlines to be able to shoot the videos? And is that one of the factors taken into account when you decide which airline to feature?
