With fall approaching and better light for photos, thought I'd check on an update. Anyone been out there lately? Construction done?

When I was there in July they were still working on the park itself. However there was plenty of parking next to the fenced off area and still nice views of the south runways. Even with midday summer light I got some decent photos...

I was there in August (beginning). The fence was up but no workers so I decided to go through the other side of it (no danger or anything), 20 minutes later a lady cop told me "there's a damn good reason the fence is there, get outta there immediately". Anyhow I found a brick and openning and took some pictures through it, when I was there they just basically needed to lay down the bricks to be finished.
Otherwise its a great spot though the electrical/phone lines & poles can be somewhat annoying.
Well I'm gonna copy the CMF spotters for some plugs

Temp construction fence is down except at the crest of the hill..about 20 feet at the top.
(bathroom to trailer)
Permanent fence post have been set but no fencing. looks like it will be about 3 to 4 ft tall at best.
No brick work has been done...as of Labor Day Weekend

According to a person in the Public Works department at the City Of El Segundo, the delay was due to a problem the Chevron Oil Company had with the city planting trees at the top of the hill. They felt that the trees would interfere with some of their pipelines that run through the area. Anyway, the problem has been resolved and hopefully the project will be completed soooooooon.

Quick update - The City of El Segundo CIP schedule lists the completion date to be 07Oct-2003. Depending on any contractor/city-agreed upon delays, that's a date to look forward to.
