How many aircraft are in the database ONLY because of your photo(s)? I've got only one or two...this one being the most surprising:

Great question. It's cool to see that you may be the only one that has uploaded a photo of a certain aircraft.

I have several, but it's because i've uploaded several small, local Cessna single engine types.

I can't believe they are stopping production of the 757. It's (in my opinion) the best looking airliner ever, and your photo Tim, emphasises that point fantastically.

Many of my military and private shots are unique regs, so I won't list them all.

Ones that I'm surprised haven't been posted by anyone else include the An-124 prototype at the 1985 Paris Show:

Well, I have a couple of firsts...meaning that the photos I managed to get accepted were the first ones in the database. They are common TYPES, but the actual aircraft themselves--their tail numbers--are (were) new.

All four photos were firsts in the database tail-number wise, with the C-5 being still the only one of it's registration in the database. The F-15C was first, the second in the database was also mine. Not trying to brag, just happy and a little proud of them.  cheerful

I've got around 250 shots of unique N#'s (ones only I've shotten). It helps not shooting airliners and living 100 miles from the closest a.net photographer.

Actually, its not too difficult for general aviation types. It's not too rare to get the first shot of a military type either. Airliners however are much harder to get a unique entry of, so well done Sleekjet. I have a habit of going off the beaten track looking for hidden odd-balls such as these, which I enjoyed getting and uploading:

Not really, at least in Boeings case. Boeing reuses their temporary registration numbers. For example, I have 12 different shots of N1786B, but all unique aircraft. Boeing test reg's are usually N1786B, N1787B, etc.

Even better would be a unique shot (airline, reg, type) that you managed to capture but no longer exists.

I have such a photo, Lequios of Japan, went bust before they could ever take delivery. There is a shot of the tail, wearing a Yank reg, but I dont consider that a proper photo Big grin

I have a fairly easy task here as all of my pictures are of GA taken at small airfields. Of the 200 or so that I have in the database, 60 are still unique to me.

This picture is quite poignant, as the plane crashed (sadly with a fatality) a couple of weeks after it was taken.
