Hi everyone,

I took the shot below on Sunday afternoon in the pouring rain, not ideal, but it started snowing horizontally shortly after, so I was lucky

I overexposed by 1/3 due to the poor light, but now looking at it, I'm wondering if the engine is slightly blown out?

As ever, your thoughts are welcome.

Regards,

Tim.

EDIT: For some reason it only seems to be showing half the shot, and at full size, so here is the link to it:

Hi Tim.

I hope you got my mail.

I think that the photo has to look like this in those conditions for you to have got a decent exposure overall. For me that whiteness of the engine cowling does not detract from the overall quality of the shot and I would hope that you will be fine here.

All the best.

Paul

Tim,

Nice shot, especially considering the weather you had to deal with up North  Wink

Seriously though, dont get too caught up in the a.net critique, yes exposure is important but I just fear that the forum is perhaps getting caught up in looking for the slightest problem with an image rather than looking at the whole.

Cheers

Ben

It's about time it started warming up. It's been horrible for weeks now, although the sky is cloudless at the minute - it wont last!

For some reason, my 300D seems to underexpose when the light is poor, so I generally always have to compensate by 1/3 of a stop.

Regards,

Tim.
