Looking for a picture of the side view of an entire airliner on its length.

Ideal - picture would be approx 25 inches wide at 300 dpi.

Ideal #2 - picture of a recent fuel-efficient airliner.
(ie. 777-200/300, Airbus 330-200/300)

For a high-end promotional item from IATA.

Please feel free to message me for any questions.

You can have it for free. Just let me know what airline you need.

No need to pay big bucks to an agency if Tony is prepared to give you what you need.

It isn't for me either. In fact, I am appalled at the way some are on this forum about it. This just seems like an odd, very specific request and there are 2 "well-knowns" jumping at the chance to supply the requested image.

Think I am with Jeff on this..

I take aviation photos because I love aeroplanes and photography.
If a non profit or charity or even an individual asks nicely I am likely to provide a print or sometimes a file either at cost or for free.

When a very much "for profit" organisation requests a very large high quality file for a "high end" promotional item, then in my view they should be paying and paying a fair price. A price that should be close to what they would expect to pay if specifically commissioning a photographer to obtain that shot.

Tony and TZ, thanks again for driving down the ability of your colleagues to recoup some of their considerable expenses.

Regards

Our "jobs" at airliners.net are purely unpaid and voluntary, and we all do it for our own reasons. If one guy loves to screen images and works like a daemon to get the queue down yet is shy and doesn't like speaking in public, so be it. I am not going to force an unpaid volunteer to do something (s)he doesn't enjoy or isn't suited to.

Peter

As you well know from your years as a screener, the "special paint" categories only apply to genuine airlines, and only to deviation from a standard scheme. It would be completely rediculous if the scheme of a single-aircraft airline was labelled as "special" simply because there were no others like it.

I believe we all understand that those categories apply only to deviation from an airline's standard scheme. If these logos had been applied to a (say) easyJet B737, then the category would be different.

So, you will be absolutely delighted to know that two screeners have labelled their photographs correctly and in accordance with the rules, and that your faith in the fairness of the airliners.net rules remains intact.

Wow, this strayed from the topic quickly. Please, lets not turn it into a screener bash again. My whole reason for even posting was the outrage here when someone gives their photos away and is then lambasted by the "community". Yet, here we go again. "High-res, here take it, thanks, Will do "business" again." I can't stress enough that I started doing this because I love aviation. I still do or else I wouldn't go out to TUL and watch and photograph the parade of RJs time after time. This was just too strange and blatant of a thread it seemed.

As one of the most simplest shots to take, this is a pretty heavy statement TZ. Of course, if you have your personal favourites then that's another matter, but shooting side-on approach shots, especially in sunny conditions, couldn't be any easier. Personally, I find Tony's work very good, like much of the other work sent in to Airliners, but I would find myself hard pressed to find the finest of side-ons here, even given the chance.

No. I said "you won't find finer quality". That does not infer that I believe Tony's images are better than everybody or even better than most. It means exactly what it says - in my opinion, you won't find finer quality. He is up with the very best. I never said he was better than everybody - that would be a totally stupid thing to say, whoever I was referring to.
