Topic: Help On Selling A Picture Username: KLM772ER Posted 2007-08-25 19:05:58 and read 1818 times.Hello!
I today received an email with request for buying a picture of mine for advertising purpose.
Quote: This photo would be used for a one page ad for Sabre Airline Solutions |
That is all the information I got about where they want to use it for. I wrote them back, that I am generally interested and requested some more information. They want to pay 50$ for it.
What do you think. Is that Ok or should I request more?
Hope to get some more information in the next few hours, as they said it would be urgent as the final art would be need to be submitted on Monday 27th August...
Cheers

Congratulations on getting a sale! |

I had a photo of mine bought by GQ magazine and got $175 for it, and it's filling 1/8th of a page.
Still waiting for payment though...
If anyone buys the US version, let me know if there's a picture of a Netjets GV-550, I hope I haven't been conned!

It sounds way too low a price for advertisement purposes, but your being able to negotiate a higher price will of course depend on how rare the photo is.
Quoting DeltaAVL (Reply 1): It depends entirely on what magazine it is and what the circulation is |
And also on how many times they want to run the ad.
Find out more, I say, and do not sell yourself cheap.
Good luck.

Quote: We will be printing 400 copies of this particular ad. However we are interested in having the option to reuse this ad if needed. Will this be a problem? |
Quote: It will be placed in a fullpage ad at 300 resolution ad. |
This is the picture they want to use..

It is for the "Sabre Airline Solutions".. I think 400 photos is not much, but as they would like to reuse it...

Option to reuse shouldn't be too much of a problem, but not included in this price. Make sure that the money they offer is Free of Charge, so they pay all transfer costs. |
