Hi all

I'm looking to visit LAX and the surrounding area in late November, i'm aware of most of the locations to view and photograph at LAX but i was wondering does anyone know of any good spots at KSNA or VNY.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are a few good spots at both airports. I lived near VNY and SNA at different times.
For VNY the main spot is on the corner of Arminta and Havenhurst. It is a business park but no one should bother you. You can stand on a guard rail to shoot over the fence. The best time to shoot would be the afternoon. Examples:

For mornings you can go to Waterman Dr. off of Woodley. There is an actual spotters area there with ATC on a loudspeaker. Examples:

If there are Santa Ana winds they will use the 34's. There is a spot in a parking lot off of Havenhurst and Hart St. Example:

For SNA the most popular place to shoot is at the threshold of 19R. It is in a business park on Airport Loop Dr. It is an afternoon spot as well.

You can also go down Airway Ave to the threshold of 1L and shoot departures.

I had a morning spot for SNA but it is closed now. All these spots a 70-200 or 100-400 would work out fine. Email me if you have any specific questions. I'd be happy to shoot with you if I am free while you're here.

it might give you some ideas about where to spot. also, if you're coming late November, and haven’t seen the airbus 380 yet, you're in for a treat. it will be at lax  

What day will the a380 be at lax?

well, i'd like to wait till the airport and airbus make it official to the general public, but let me say it will be here "midweek" at the end of november *hint*. the plane will be staying here overnight this time. a press release should be out in a few days.
